UPPR & PRTEC

The Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico (UPPR) and the Puerto Rico Techno-Economic Corridor (PRTEC) have formed a significant partnership. This initiative aims to provide federal assistance for individuals to pursue technical courses and professional certifications free of charge. It is made possible through a proposal from the Ready to Work (RTW) Workforce Training Program of the Federal Department of Housing. 

THOSE WHO MEET THE CRITERIA

Can receive up to $3,000 for their professional education. The courses are offered by providers who have a Collaborative Agreement with the Puerto Rico Techno-Economic Corridor (PRTEC).

The eligibility requirements are as follows:

Must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Puerto Rico with low to median income.

Must be unemployed.
Must be underemployed*.
Must be a university student close to graduation, with one year or less remaining to complete a post-secondary technical course or an Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree program.


*Underemployed refers to being in a position where the responsibilities and requirements are below the individual's academic preparation and professional experience.


To receive the assistance, interested individuals must complete a simple referral form to PRTEC. For more information or to receive the referenced form, contact the designated person from our institution.
